Artainium ink has been around for about 10 years. Dye Sublimation is a rather big secret the screenprinting industry is hiding. In truth, you can buy a fairly inexpensive system and start imprinting in your home.

Mostly the printers have to have a micro piezo printhead. Some Epsons and some Ricoh printers have this spraying printhead. The dye sub industry has created cartridges and refillable systems to work with the printers: Epson: C120, 1400, 4880, 7880, WF30 and the Ricohs: GX7000 and the GX5050N.

You can't switch back and forth, you must set up a sublimation printer and keep it with that ink. The paper used to transfer needs to be a heavy, non-absorbent paper. Then the items you print on must be polyester or poly coated.

I think it's a new ink. I'm not sure whether it's in market but you'll probably use with your epson printer. It looks like you just need different ink and paper but not sure though.
